We spent an amazing day with Kwi Delancey of Provo Sand and Sea Tours. He is a Belonger (native) of the Turks & Caicos Islands and has been a captain for 13 years.
He picked us up right down at the beach for a day trip and asked us how we wanted to spend the day. We ended up snorkeling in several spots as he took us from Cay to Cay. We saw a 4' reef shark, caught our lunch (lobsters and conch) and he even caught a turtle for us to hold before releasing. We then went to a beach where he prepared a BBQ of lobster (couldn't be fresher!), conch salad (after he cracked the conch and let our children remove the animals from the shells), ribs, chicken, corn, potato, plantain, desserts and drinks. Way more food that we could eat!
We then did some fishing and swimming and headed off for a tour of homes of some of the famous residents (Bruce Willis, Donna Karan, Keith Richards, Christie Brinkley, Pele...) on the way to another beach. Here we walked, swam, and found sand dollars. After that it was time to head back as it was getting late and we were getting tired. We spent about 8 1/2 hours out with Kwi and his mate and found it to be fun for all, informative and we really got to know more about the islands and people of TCI. A repeat trip is a must for our family!
