After the Celtics 17th NBA Championship win last week, coach Doc Rivers has truly earned some R&R. Since he's been a member at destination club Ultimate Escapes for several years he'll more than likely be relaxing at one of their 150 luxury homes.
At an Ultimate event in Boston last year Doc said he enjoys the club because it offers privacy, first class service, so many locations, and serves as a great place for his friends and in-laws to vacation. He did admit that he personally would like to use the clubs homes more often, but found it hard with his hectic schedule, and so his wife and mother-in-law had enjoyed a lot more vacations than he had.
We're guessing that Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck will give Doc some time off this summer to make sure he has a few good vacations.
Ultimate Escapes are keeping quiet about any reservations that Doc may have made with the club. One of the hallmarks of all destination clubs is the privacy that they provide their members, and certainly the large single family homes mean that members can enjoy time with friends and family without being subject to a public, hotel environment.
Jim Tousignant, president & CEO of Ultimate Escapes noted "We want to congratulate Doc Rivers on the Celtics winning the NBA Championship for 2008. As a member of Ultimate Escapes since 2005, were excited to recognize him for this outstanding achievement."
