(Editors Note this article is from 2011). Exclusive Resorts has introduced several new pricing and payment plans over the last year. These provide a lot of flexibility for customizing a membership plan to suit your budget, cashflow and travel needs.
Multiple Plan Levels
The core part of any destination club membership plan is choosing the number of days you want to travel with the club each year. We've come across a lot of examples of members who start with a smaller number of nights each year, and then upgrade as they realize how much they like the club membership structure.
Exclusive offers 6 membership plans providing from 10 to 60 nights of travel in 10 day increments. Each membership plan comes with a number of advanced reservations, which allow members to reserve homes well ahead of their travel time. So for instance, a 30 night membership plan comes with 3 advanced reservations, which means a 30 day member can plan and book 3 future vacations well in advance. The more nights in your membership plan, the more advanced reservations you have - this is typical of membership plans at all the destination clubs.
For Exclusive's members, the bigger plans also have a bigger window for making "Space Available Reservations". These are trips made on shorter notice. For instance a 60 day membership can book these trips up to 90 days before they travel.
Annual Dues
The annual membership dues vary depending on the number of nights in the membership plan and are approximately $1,000 per night.
Plan Days | 10 | 20 | 30 | 40 | 50 | 60 |
Annual Dues | $9,950 | $19,900 | $29,850 | $39,800 | $49,750 | $59,700 |
Advanced Reservations | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 |
Space Available (Reserve Window) |
30 | 45 | 60 | 75 | 90 | 90 |
Holiday Reservations
With the high demand for travel during a few peak holiday periods, Exclusive also has a priority holiday booking system. If you want to make advance reservations for these times, you need to pay a one off non-refundable fee that gives you access to this holiday inventory during your membership.
There are two levels for this fee. The first, "Select Holidays" covers reservations in the weeks of Spring Break, 4th of July, and Thanksgiving. The price is $49,000. The second "Peak Holidays" cover reservations in the weeks of Christmas, New Years and Presidents Day. This costs $99,000.
As an example, if you know when you join the club that you will always want to travel at Thanksgiving and Presidents week, you would pay $148,000 to be able to reserve over these dates each year.
Non-Refundable Plans
Earlier this year Exclusive Resorts introduced non-refundable membership plans. So new members now have a choice of whether they want to pay a larger membership fee, of which 75% is refundable when they leave, or pay a smaller non-refundable fee. The two sets of membership fees are shown in the table below.
Deferred Payments
Whether new members choose the refundable or non-refundable membership plan, both can be paid for over three years. New members pay an initial 25% of their chosen plan and then the balance in three more installments, as shown below.
Plan Days | Refundable | Non-Refundable | ||
