The Hideaways Club is a global equity destination club, which officially launched its first fund, the Classic Collection, in 2007. The club buys luxury villas throughout the world, with an average value of £1.3m+ ($1.6m) and typically a minimum of 4 to 5 bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms. It's second fund, the City Collection, launched in 2011, and buys apartments in the worlds most sought after cities.
The club has villas and chalets throughout the world, with a major focus on European homes. Destinations include France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece and the UK and further afield in Morocco, South Africa, Thailand, Japan and Dubai.
There are currently four membership levels for the Classic Fund, with the highest level having an initial fee of £213,000 ($277k, at a 1.30 exchange rate) and an annual fee of £24,280 ($32k, at a 1.30 exchange rate). The City Collection has two membership levels, with the initial fee for the highest level at £78,000 ($101k, at a 1.30 exchange rate), which provides 24 days of usage per year. As a member you own a share of the company that holds all the properties for the club. The shares are revalued periodically based on the value of the property portfolio and the demand for the shares. When a member sells a share there is a 5% sales fee and the member receives 80% of the capital gain. Members can also sell their shares through a club run marketplace or transfer the shares to other family members.
Usage of the clubs properties in the Classic Collection is based on a points system depending on when you book your time eg for Peak and Off Peak times. Vacation time can also be given to friends and family to use independently. Members also have access to over 400 additional homes and locations through reciprocal arrangements with other similar clubs including Exclusive Resorts, Equity Estates and Banyan Tree Resorts.
