Destination clubs, residence funds and luxury travel clubs provide their members with access to multiple luxury vacation homes, located all over the world. The homes are typically multi-million dollar residences, and are sited in major cities, at beaches, in mountains and leisure locations.

Membership of the clubs is an alternative to buying a second home. The clubs are sometimes also compared to, or even mixed up with, private residence clubs, but there are several key differences between the two.

Joining a destination club can be a way to ensure great luxury getaways several times per year. Before committing to a club, potential members should be well-equipped to choose the club that best suits your needs. As minimum night requirements vary from club to club, it is important to look at the minimum number of nights for any given stay and be sure they suit your travel plans.

About three years in the making, Distinctive Holiday Homes (DHH) just opened its doors for new members in the summer of 2007. The years of careful planning and preparation have allowed this "members only" luxury destination club to raise the bar of opulent vacations.

The two destination clubs have both announced price increases in the last two days. Both sets of increases become effective in November.

M Private Residences recently announced the increase of its property portfolio to 15, with the completion of their custom-built luxury vacation home in the heart of the Bear Mountain Golf Course community.

Next Thursday, September 27th, Ultimate Resort are hosting a cocktail reception and presentation with special guest and Ultimate Resort member Doc Rivers, Head Coach of the Boston Celtics.

Located within the Palmilla Resort, this new resort within a resort will have the first four homes available in January 2008. Members will be able to start making their initial reservations later this year.

The Solstice Collection has just added two ultramodern New York homes to its luxury portfolio of $6.5m residences. These all glass homes have floor to ceiling windows with protected views of the Hudson River and the Hudson River park.

BelleHavens equity destination club is offering new members who join before September 15 a "True Luxury BelleHavens Experience". The club will create and plan a dream vacation to a BelleHavens destination of your choice and pay for up to $10,000 of your expenses.

Ultimate Resort has just announced the availability of 60 luxury hotels in over 30 cities in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America. Members of Ultimate Resorts two destination clubs can use their club membership days to stay at these hotels, as if they were using club properties.

The Destination Club Association (DCA) has recently issued a "Code of Responsible Business Conduct" for its member clubs to abide by. We spoke to Adam Wegner, the President of the DCA, to find out about these latest developments.
